On Saturday, August 27 Windsor Fratmen were leading the Ottawa Sooners 29-13 with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter when darkness was looming and the game was suspended by the officials. In a game originally set for 4:00pm the sky opened up and torrential rain accompanied by thunder and lightning pushed the start time to 5:40pm.
A few hours before game time the sky was clear, the sun was shining and both teams were ready to play football. When play finally started the game took a turn when a serious injury on the field delayed the game another 30 plus minutes. Another injury occurred early in the third quarter delaying the game some more until the officials decided enough was enough.
The game was completed on Saturday, September 10. The Sooners managed six more points on a touchdown but failed to convert on a two point conversion. The Fratmen are now officially 3-0 to start the season.
